Village dedicates Library Park
At its May meeting, the Village Council voted unanimously to give the park on the west side of the Darcy Library a name: Library Park.  The dedication was coordinated with the 1st birthday of the Darcy Library and over 70 attended the event.  The support of the Village made the building of the Library possible.  Additionally, many friends donated the funds to dedicate a new bench in Library Park in honor of Pat Jehle, President of the Friends, who led the fundraising effort for the building. Speeches, birthday presents, a new Glenn Wolff/student art project and refreshments added to the June 14th event.

CLCBA Update:
Thanks to Kitty Ely at Northern Décor, walking maps of downtown Beulah and Benzonia are available in businesses and the Trailhead Building.  The maps were designed by Kitty and funded by the CLCBA (Crystal Lake Community Business Association).  These are the same good folks who work to organize and provide the Music in the Park, 4th July Parade/events and fireworks as well as many of the summer races, Halloween Maze, Winter Fest, Fall Fest, Christmas Magic and many others.  Please support them with your business and donations can be sent to:  CLCBA, PO Box 554, Beulah, MI  49617 (please note if money is for a specific event).  Volunteers walked the parade route on July 4th and raised nearly $800 in donations to help with the fireworks costs!  In regards to the lateness of the fireworks, due to the cloudless sky, it was still too light at 10:30 to get maximum benefit hence the 10:45 start time. It was a beautiful ending for a wonderful day!  Summer events are plentiful, check out: www.crystallakecommunitybusinessassoc.com.
