Approval of minutes for June 4, 2009 - Motion by Cantrell, support by Kinzel - All Ayes - MOTION CARRIED
Review of bills for June/July 2009 - Motion by Kilgus, support by Hansen to approve bills - Roll Call: AYES: Hansen, Siderman, Kinzel, Kilgus, Pallin, Rank, Cantrell - NAYES - NONE - MOTION CARRIED

Communication to Council:
Terry Money discussed Cold Creek Watershed drainage. Formed a petition for people/businesses affected by drainage problem. This actually covers the township not the Village but would like the Village to participate.
Art Fair - The sheriff's patrol will be directing traffic for the fair
CLCBA requesting a $500.00 donation for music in the park. Motion by Cantrell, support by Kinzel to donate $500.00 - Roll Call: AYES: Siderman, Kinzel, Cantrell, Pallin, Rank, Kilgus, Hansen - NAYES - NONE - MOTION CARRIED
Village and staff received a thank you letter from the Beulah Boosters for support of their picnic in the park.
Received a letter from Undersheriff Sholten voicing concerns during the parade with the angled parking - a response was written by President Rank.
Jim Sheets discussed reassessment of all properties in the township over a 4 year period. Asked for financial assistance from the Village - $7155.00/4years - equating to $1789.00 per year. Issue to be placed on the agenda in August.
Dave Neiger - Cold Creek outside café would require the Village to decide if they could utilize the Village right of way.
Noxious weed letters had been sent out - received approximately a 25% response
Treasurer Olney - Tax money is coming in - Treasurers report reviewed - Motion by Kinzel, support by Hansen to approve the report - All Ayes - MOTION CARRIED
Water/Sewer - Chairman Kilgus: Water bills will have a new look - cards. A new fire hydrant has been installed on Spring Valley . Grease in the sewers requires jetting out by a contractor approximately twice a year. Looking into purchasing sewer jetters for the Village - $10,500.00 - need to receive approval from Rural Development to use Sewer Construction Fund for equipment. Resolution on run water advisory read by Kilgus - Motion by Kilgus, support by Cantrell to accept resolution - Roll Call: AYES: Kinzel, Cantrell, Pallin, Rank, Kilgus, Hansen, Siderman - NAYES - NONE - MOTION CARRIED - Resolution to be published in the Record Patriot
Law/Finance - Chairperson Hansen: Capital Outlay was reviewed for each department - report distributed to all council members.
Building/Grounds - Chairman Siderman: No report
Equipment - Chairperson Cantrell: The loader is in need of significant repairs - will be checking on cost of a new loader.
Parks/Rec - Chairman Pallin: Corrections to be made on the budget. Fair Park refurbishing has been completed - Plant It Wild to place perennial flowers in the park. A grill and bench will be placed in the park. Thanks to the crew for repositioning the sign. RV Park has some plumbing issues - push button timers for the shower $300.00 each. Also, checking on possibility of increasing amperage in the trailer park. Safety handles have been installed in the bathrooms. Possibility of a fence between the RV Park and the public beach.
Streets/Sidewalks - Chairman Kinzel: New wheel stops have been ordered for Skate Park . Signs are to be posted for the angle parking area - discussion ensued about the lengths of vehicles parking.
Maintenance - John Lawrence - Lights down from Christmas tree - many broken. Rank stated that John was in charge while Brian is gone. Thanks for a great job on the 4 th of July.
Old Business:
Vicki Carpenter - Master Plan - Working on streamlining goals that overlap. Newsletter being prepared.
Gary Siderman - Move date up for clean up day. Permit to state "your refuse only" - limit of 1 truck load
Public Input:
Al Brown - Assessments are covered in the taxes which is why Benzonia does not wish to participate in extra cost.
Ray Chmielewski - At the parade candy being thrown - both children and parents ran into the street.
Dawn Olney - Suggested sign for angled parking to state "compact cars only".
Joyce P. suggested placing run water advisory on the web site.
Vicki Carpenter - The crew did a great clean up job on the 4 th & 5 th . Bulletin boards have been placed in the Village office windows. Saturday is the last day for Art Cetera.
The Boosters collected $600.00 in donations for the fireworks.
