Beulah, Michigan Information
The village of Beulah is located in Benzie County, in the Traverse City metro area. Beulah is the county seat. Benzie County has been recognized as one of the fastest growing counties in Michigan.
Beulah rests on the southeast shore of Crystal Lake about one mile north of on U.S. Highway 31 and about 7 miles east of Lake Michigan.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.4 miles, none of which is covered by water. Beulah has long been known as a summer vacation destination.
Beulah History Brief
Founded about 1880 by Reverend Charles E. Bailey and named by him after a place described in the Bible.
Beulah separated from Benzonia and was given a post office on February 8, 1892, with Charles S. Merritt as its first postmaster.
Beulah was incorporated as a village in 1932.
Beulah Businesses 
The village of Beulah has two commercial areas. One area is known as "downtown" Beulah and the other is referred to as the US-31 corridor.
The mainstay of businesses in Beulah operate year-round with only a few being seasonal.
Downtown Beulah is situated near the shores of beautiful Crystal Lake.
Shopping opportunities abound for art, flowers, jewelry, antiques, home decor, clothing, kayaks and kayaking accessories, gifts and books.
Along the main street you will discover the Post Office, legal services, financial and accounting services, land conservancy organizations, hair salons, churches, community services, insurance agents, pharmacists, dental care, counseling services, restaurants, delis, medical care, photocopying services and lodging.

The US-31 corridor has various businesses which will meet your personal and professional needs.
You will find gasoline, pizza, baked goods, ice cream, produce, locally-made food and textile products, antiques and movie rentals.
Available services and ammenities include insurance agents, real estate brokers, a Secretary of State office, tile/carpet sales/installation, governmental agencies, lodging, dining, mini-golf,and laundromat facilities.

As of the census of 2000, there are 363 people, 190 households, and 102 families residing in the village. There are 359 housing units within the village.
The median age is 49 years. For every 100 females there are 84.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 82.9 males.
